Kadosh SamaritanA Free TrueType Fontby Shawn Eyer, P∴M∴
Kadosh Samaritan follows the old Michigan-Claremont encoding scheme, just like the Scholars Press Hebrew fonts. That means that you can represent any unpointed and unaccented Hebrew in Samaritan type just by changing the font. To facilitate this function, I have duplicated characters where appropriate because in ktav ashurit sometimes there are special versions of certain letters (kaph, mem, nun, peh, tzadi) when they come at the end of a word. This was not done in ancient manuscripts. Additionally, Kadosh Samaritan offers number of useful Masonic symbols, with an emphasis on the Scottish Rite. Among the images to be found are the double-headed eagle, the logo of the Scottish Rite Research Society, and the various crosses used in Scottish Rite signatures.
Kadosh Samaritan is dedicated to the adepts and students of the College of the Consistory, and respectfully submitted for their use. This page is the permanent home for Kadosh Samaritan and you will always be able to get the latest version of it here. Significant improvements are planned, including a Unicode-compliant version of Samaritan font using OpenType. Other LinksLearn more about the Samaritan people, their language and culture.
